Young Musician Mentorship

ONE DENVER works to preserve the cultural identity of Denver while building a vibrant, safe, and inclusive city nightlife ecosystem that benefits all residents. We are developing unique art programs, workshops, and community events and providing a platform for residents to design and shape the future of Denver’s nighttime economy.

Through our programs, we will provide a secure haven for all, but at the heart of our initiative are youth aged 14-26 and BIPOC artists.

By Q2 2024*, we aim to start providing funding, professional development, and gigs for 40 youth artists from diverse disciplines and backgrounds through our mentorship program – with it being fully realized by Q2 2025. These youth will receive guidance from experienced professionals on various aspects of the music industry, such as:

1. Contracts and riders

2. Sound engineering

3. Marketing strategies

Driving this initiative is ONE Denver’s Executive Director Stephen Brackett, founding member of Flobots, Colorado’s Music Ambassador, and co-chair of Mayor Johnston’s Arts and Culture Transition Committee. Brackett is the co-founder of Youth on Record, a nonprofit that helps young people from historically under-resourced communities advance their academic success, increase their economic opportunities and career skills, and strengthen their community connections and networks.
